The OEM No.6 Shift Weight Assembly is typically sold only as a complete unit, with retail pricing reaching approximately $220 USD. Unfortunately, BMW/MINI does not offer the internal bushing separately, forcing owners to replace the entire assembly even when only the bushing has failed.
As these vehicles age, the factory bushings commonly develop excessive play, vague shifter feel, vibration, and unwanted noise during gear changes.
To provide a more durable and cost-effective solution, KIMI RACING developed reinforced replacement bushings for both the No.2 Sliding Piece and No.6 Shift Weight Assembly using high-performance PA6-CF (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Nylon) produced through precision 3D printing technology.
Each component has been thoroughly tested on real-world R53 applications to verify fitment, reliability, and long-term usability. Post-processing includes a controlled annealing cycle at 167°F (75°C) for 3 hours to reduce internal stress and improve dimensional stability and heat resistance.
